St. Croix SnorkelingBeaches | Scuba Diving | Sailing | Buck Island | Tours and Daytrips | Sport Fishing St. Croix has the largest coral reef of any Caribbean island, making it one of the best scuba diving and snorkeling islands in the Caribbean. The beauty of snorkeling is that anyone can learn to do it in a short time, it's inexpensive, and you get to see the amazing diversity of life on the coral reef. St. Croix has enough snorkeling beaches you could go to one every day for three weeks and not repeat your visit! There are beaches on St. Croix appropriate for the even the youngest or most inexperienced of snorkelers where the waters are calm and lots of fish close to the shore. Try the beach at Hotel on the Cay, Rainbow Beach north of Frederiksted, or any of the beaches south of Frederiksted. Green Cay and Cane Bay are fabulous places to go once you have a little experience. For advanced snorkelers and the adventurous types we recommend a hike into Isaac's Bay on the East End. But seriously, pick a beach, put on your fins and snorkel and get in the water. You never know when a sea turtle will swim out of the blue right under you....it's happened to us several times. Our beach list has directions to all the beaches, photos and information on services available. You can rent snorkel equipment from any of the St. Croix Dive Shops; buying it is fairly inexpensive as well. St. Croix Dive Centers
